Wheelchairs are many affairs to different human beings. They can even be a short time assistance for recovery or they may be long duration principal sources of moving. Which another means you use them may differ but one thing is for sure, the modern wheelchair is a modern wonder in pattern as compared to 100 years ago.


Wheelchairs are of two varieties, first one is the power wheelchair and the second one is the manual wheelchair. There are drawbacks & benefits of each variety of wheelchairs. The manual wheelchair is additionally classified into, the rigid frame and the folding frame manual wheelchair. The folding wheelchair can be folded easily (wheel against wheel) for very simple compact conveyance.


The drawback of the folding frame wheelchair is that it is more heavy than an one piece rigid frame wheelchair. The rigid frame wheelchair is lighter than folding frame wheelchair because it has no scissor arms in it. Rigid frames wheelchairs are at times named as sport wheelchairs.


We also have powered & manual wheelchairs to choose. The advantages of each type of wheelchair are differentiated with limitations. Such non automatic wheel chair offers the patient a bodily workout in arm exercise. The range of power wheelchair is twenty miles. Fortunately the operating allows no strains at all.
